Gozzy is a food delivery service operating in the United Kingdom. This page
explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Your name, email address and phone number. To create your
account and so the restaurant and driver can reach you about your order.
- Your delivery addresses. To deliver your food.
- Your approximate location, only while the app is open and
only if you allow it. Used to show nearby restaurants and work out the
delivery fee. We do not track you in the background.
- Your orders and payments. Card details are handled by
Stripe and never reach our servers.
- Messages you send to your driver or to support.
- Your profile photo, if you upload one.
Who we share it with
- The restaurant you ordered from: your first name, order
and delivery notes.
- Your driver: your first name, delivery address and phone
number, until the order is delivered.
- Stripe, for payment.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from Profile → Delete account in
the app, or from this page without the app.
Your name, contact details, addresses, photo, reviews and notifications are
removed.
Past orders are kept with your details stripped out. UK tax law requires
businesses to keep sales records for six years, and each order is also a record
for the restaurant and the driver who were paid for it.
How long we keep things
Two different rules apply, and they do not conflict. Anything that
identifies you is kept only as long as we need it. The figures
from a sale are kept as long as HMRC requires, because they are accounting
records.
- Delivery photos taken by drivers: 7 days.
- Where the driver's phone was during a delivery: 90 days,
then deleted. We keep it that long only so we can settle a dispute about
whether a delivery arrived. After that the map of the journey is gone;
the delivery's times and distance stay, because they are figures, not a
record of anybody's movements.
- Chat with your driver: 6 months, then deleted.
- Messages between us and a restaurant: 1 year, then
deleted.
- Your order history: 1 year. After that the order leaves
your account and we strip everything personal from it — your address,
your notes to the driver, the door PIN. What stays is the date, the
items and the amounts, with nothing that points to you.
- Those stripped figures: 7 years, then deleted for good.
Six years is what HMRC requires; the seventh covers the fact that the
clock starts at the end of the accounting year, not on the day you
ordered.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or
ask us to delete it. Write to [email protected] and we
will answer within 30 days.
